Former BNP candidate is given an ASBO

Pelsall residents have praised police, housing officers and councillors who helped evict and obtain an Antisocial Behaviour Order against a BNP candidate and his family who made their lives hell.

But residents of Avon Crescent are still so fearful they asked the Advertiser not to print their names.Dominic Bugler, who stood in May's council elections on a platform of law and order, was given the ASBO last month after neighbours complained of 18 months of abuse at his family's hands. The conditions of the ASBO mean Bugler, his wife and two children, have been banned from entering the Heath End area of Pelsall, the Walsall Road and Norton Lane, plus Pelsall village and its High Street.

One Avon Crescent resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said residents wanted to thank everyone who helped evict the family and obtain the ASBO.

"They have provided us with their utmost assistance and dedication and we cannot thank them enough," she said.

PC Andrew Harman said the Bugler's landlord - Walsall Housing Group - the police and local councillors had worked together after a series of complaints from residents.

"There had been ongoing problems with Mr Bugler which included abuse, littering, drinking and fighting, and the problems had existed for some considerable time," he said. "Along with Walsall Housing Group we collected evidence and statements which allowed us to obtain the ASBO."

Pelsall councillor Gary Perry said the order had been granted because of the evidence and statements given by residents.

He added: "It was ironic that during the May elections he put out leaflets saying he was opposed to antisocial behaviour and in favour of law and order.

A spokesperson for Walsall Housing Group said Bugler had been evicted for non-payment of rent.

Bugler was unavailable for comment but BNP regional organiser Simon Darby said Bugler's actions did not reflect on the party.

"He certainly has personal problems in his life but they are not part of the BNP," he said. "I think it is fair to say that, by mutual agreement, he won't be standing as a candidate again."

You might as well leave the BNP to their own devices. They're so incapable of telling the difference between a total dickhead and someone who could actually try to be a worthwhile councillor that they will destroy themselves anyway.

bill said....who cares as long as they arry on doing it....while i share the sentiment, and enjoy watching the nazis implode, we must consider the neighbours who had to live through this.

Collecting evidence to get a conviction for an ASBO can be a lengthy process, and the neighbours may have had to give evidence, which could have made them feel very vunerable to attack, especially knowing that the offender was a member of the BNP who lets face it are as near to burning crosses on your front lawn as you can get in this country.

So of course i cheer that the b....d got his just desserts, i also applaud the residents who stuck together to get rid of him and his nazi family.

I don't think you'll find anyone here who will disagree with you on that.

Simon Darby chooses them in the West Mids, which is why he selected a man who has a massive collection of nazi memorabillia to stand in Worcester.

I am one of the residents who got the ASBO against Bugler. We had really suffered at his family's hands. We had to go to court to give evidence, but in the end he pleaded guilty and we were spared the ordeal. We had to wait 4 hours though as he had been arrested the night before for breach of the peace and they had to deal with that first. Cheered us all up no end!!!!!!!!!1

I am also one of the residents that helped get the ASBO. I have never been so scared when it came to doing the things to obtain the ASBO. I would like to give a big pat on the back to all those residents that helped. It was a long scary road but we go there.

It's ironic, he feels that he is the victim and we never took the time to understand him.

I could write a whole novel on the exploits of this man that could be made into a comedy film.

It's odd, at the end of all this BNP partially stand by him then throw him away. Couldn't happen to a nicer person.
